I suck

This week has been hectic!

I've been hanging out quite a bit with my mom since she just had surgery. She is doing really well & even started driving again this week, which is great.

My classes are almost over for the summer & then I will have a 2 week break! Then it will be my very last semester of college & I will graduate in December! Woo-hoo! Anyway, this coming week is finals, but I'm not sure yet if I'm taking any (they are both optional). I've taken two classes this summer, and one I like my grade fine, so I'm not taking the final. The other prof hasn't posted final grades yet, but is supposed to sometime today. Hopefully, I'll like that grade too & really have 3 weeks off instead of just 2!

So, my car is sick. On Tuesday, I took my mom to Hallmark, Pier 1, & then Walgreens. In the Walgreens parking lot, my car got very sick. It was kind of stuck just before 1st gear. Obviously a transmission problem, but my dad was able to help us get it home by skipping 1st gear & going straight into 2nd, 3rd, & 4th (my car is automatic, but you can shift, I guess). I guess it ran fine in the other gears, but I can't drive my car like this, plus it would probably make it get worse. So we took it to a transmission place & they are going to fix it. Apparently it's a computer problem or something. But all that really matters, I guess, is that it's fixed. It's going to cost me a lot (& I just spent a lot on my dumb car 2 weeks ago - a new timing belt & a new cv joint). Which makes me extra mad. I wish I could get a new car!! :(

Enjoy your weekend!

The NEW World of Coca Cola

So 2 weeks ago, when David's cousins were in town, I went with them down to the new Coke Museum. It was really cool.

First, you go into this holding room with all these coke signs on the walls.

Then you watch this cute little movie where they tell you what happens inside a coke machine. Then the characters in the movie do a little "documentary" about their life working for coke. It's real cute.

Then you go upstairs into this big open area and there's cool murals on the walls.

Then go go into all these little rooms with artwork and cars and old coke machines & such.

There was one room with Andy Warhol coke art. There was also a room that was totally decorated in coke stuff.

Not only is there artwork & old coke ads & a mini coke bottler, there's a 4D movie. You wear 3D glasses & then sit in chairs that move around, you get water splashed on you, feel wind in your face, etc. It was probably our very favorite part.

And last, but not least, the guys who I took there!

Surgery

My mom had surgery yesterday. She did great & is supposed to come home today. She's still feeling kind of sick, but hopefully they'll give her a different medicine to help with that.

Also, I had a test today. I know I did really bad. All I can hope for is that I guessed close on the free response questions & am able to get some partial credit. Ugh.

So yeah, I will update soon.

St Augustine, Florida

So we went to Florida! And we made it home! And we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! Woo-hoo!

Now, it's time for you to hear about our trip & get bored with pictures! Aren't you the lucky one?

Friday we left for Florida at 2:30pm. We drove & drove. I had to pee & we were hungry & grouchy on this road called I-10 forever because there are basically no stops between Valdosta, GA & Jacksonville, FL....who knew?

Then we hit the oasis, known as Zaxby's. We both got in much better spirits & got back in the car. We made it to our hotel just before 9pm, which is basically really good time.

We stayed in the World Of Golf Village. No, we don't golf. But, it was really pretty there. And we got a pretty good deal on our hotel room! And the room was really nice! Yay!

Ok, so then we slept in & got up in time for lunch at the Sonny's BBQ. Because what trip isn't complete without BBQ? David learned the hard way that you should never order water in a restaurant in Florida. Oopsies.

Then we decided to drive to Historic St Augustine. We drove around a little, trying to figure out where we were & trying to find a place to park. We finally found a big parking deck with visiter information. We got a map & then it started raining. We decided to catch a free shuttle to this really cool old hotel which now holds Flagler College.

Outside the old hotel

The ceiling inside the hotel. It's handpainted.

Us.

So basically, I went very light showing you pictures of the hotel. But seriously, it's very impressive. And students actually go to school here! They walk in this hotel every day! They eat in a beautiful room with handpainting & tiffany stained glass windows! Seriously, the girls dorm is upstairs! Ok, I got a little excited.

Next, we walked down this touristy street & got ice cream (me) & coffee (David). We walked back to the parking deck & decided to head to the oldest house.

This house is the oldest house in St Augustine. The bottom part was built by a Spanish family & is around 270 years old. The top part was added later by an English family, & is also very old.

Here's the outside of the house.

Ok, so here's really my favorite part of the oldest house. Isn't this a great tree?

Ok, so after all that, we went & played Minature Golf. Because we are really that cool.

And it had a really cool Pirate Ship!!

There were also lots of lizards around. And there was a mama duck & her three baby ducklings! They were so cute!

Ok, so then we went to dinner at Longhorn because we are so original. Then went to the pool at the hotel & then got in the hot tub.

Sunday, we got up, had McDonald's for breakfast, ran by Publix to get magazines & bottled water & hit the beach!

That's us at the beach. It took me 4 tries to get both our whole faces in the picture. That's why I'm laughing.

We spent a couple hours at the beach & it was really really hot. Then, up came a thunder storm. We luckily headed out before it hit us, but we could see it coming down the beach.

We stopped by Pizza Hut on the way back to the hotel. Eating at Pizza Hut when we're out of town is kind of an unoffical tradition for us. Because, that's how cool we are.

Went back to the hotel to clean up. Drove around Jacksonville for awhile then had dinner at this place kind of like Moe's called Qoaba or something. It was good though. Then we went to see Oceans 13, which was really good. Stopped to get ice cream at Marble Slab & then headed back to the hotel.

Monday morning, we got up at 8:45, showered, & pulled out of the hotel parking lot by around 10am. Made a gas/lunch stop & were home around 4.

So yes, we had a super trip. I'm very impressed if you made it all the way to the boring end. I feel like I should give you a cookie or something ;)

We're home!

We made it back today around 4:15pm, thank goodness! We've hung out & done laundry all afternoon, went to Italian for dinner, & are about to watch a movie. What a great way to end our anniversary weekend.

Expect an update (with Pictures!!) tomorrow!

We're on vacay!

Sorry about the lack of posts this week. Its been busy & I've been lazy. I'm terribly sorry about that.

David's cousins were in town this week & Wednesday I played tourguide & took them downtown to see the new coke museum. I will update more about that soon (with pictures!)

In the meantime, David & I are on vacation for our 2nd anniversary (which is actually on Monday). We went to St Augustine, FL for a long weekend. I promise to post pictures from vacay next week too.

Thunder

It's thundering outside of my house today. It's finally really raining. The past couple weeks we've had annoying rain, but not real rain. Welcome to summertime in Georgia.

I love rain, I always have. I know sometimes rain can be a downer, but as long as I don't have something important planned for outdoors, I welcome it. Rain to me means staying inside, cuddling up with your hunny, & watching a movie. It means reading a good book & finally getting to use your cute polka dotted umbrella. I always get the best sleep when it's raining. I wake up in the middle of the night & hear the rain pattering on my roof & I smile to myself & curl back up in bed.

I knew it was threatening to rain all afternoon. There was a big gray cloud overhead when I was heading home from school. When I got home, I kept peaking out our front door, waiting in anticipation for it to start. When it finally did, I felt a load lifted off me & I opened our storm door a little so I could smell the new rain.

I love rain.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

I just love the Beatles...

Good news! I finally decided to associate each song/album I have on iTunes with an album cover. This is most exciting on my iPhone. I can see all the album covers when I'm picking what I wanna listen to. I know this doesn't sound exciting, but if I showed it to you, I promise you'd be impressed.

I met a friend's new man today. He's super nice. I hope he gets along well with my hubby & that there are many double/triple dates in our future.

David bought these.... putty things.... to mold around his earbuds. I helped him do them tonight. They are like silly putty or something, but they form & harden around his earbuds so that they stay in his ears better. I'm not sure why he has such problems, but he does. They're pretty cool, though, just weird.

So I'm very sad with blogger today. I found the blogger to go thingy where you take a picture on your phone & send a text or email to blogger & they post it to your blog for you. Apparently, my phone isn't supported yet. I was bummed because I figured that would be a real good way for me to post a fun picture everyday. It's usually a lot of work for me to post pictures. But really, I'm pretty lazy.

Remember those curtains I said I was going to make? I'm still going to make them.... just this coming week. And there will be pictures. Promise.

In closing, David emailed me this crazy video today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8MDNFaGfT4 It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time! Don't ask, lol.

Annoyed

My parents & brother have been out of town all week & are flying home today. My brother's (not) girlfriend was taking care of the cat & dog.

I go to their house today to help clean, turn down the ac, & change sheets (because I'm the best daughter ever) & try to go in through the garage like we always do.

There's a door to the house from the garage. This door never is locked, except at night when everyone is home. However, today, this door is locked.

So needless to say, someone mistakenly locked the door from the garage to the house. And, being a logical family, no one has a key to the front door or garage door except the people who are flying across country.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I had to drive all the way over there & gas is expensive & I live like 20 mins away. I'm rather perturbed.

So, I guess you can say they are coming home to a dirty, hot house. That sucks.

Misc Nonsense

I've been playing with my iPhone too much to update my blog. How does that work? I have no idea....

iPhone still rocks. I keep showing it to people & they keep being impressed. Don't believe all the negative you hear - it's just from people who don't have one yet!

David shaved off his beard & got his head buzzed. He looks different, but in a good way. He's so cute :)

I was going to make curtains today, but then didn't feel like it. Hopefully I will on Friday.

My butt hurts....don't ask.

My July 4th is going to be spent sleeping in with the hubby, shopping with the Nene (my grandmother), & eating steak on my patio. I have a $10 off at New York & Co, I'm way excited. And David told me to buy him soap at Bath & Body Works. I love shopping. I should really be a professional shopper.

Is there really such a thing as a professional shopper? Because, I'm serious, I could totally do that. I'm good at picking clothes and accessories out for people & I'm real good at justifying purchases..just ask the hubby!

Happy 4th!
