We're home!

Chicago was wonderful! We really had the best time. Except it was totally freezing the whole time, but whatever.

We flew in Wednesday night & quickly got our rental (with GPS!) & headed off to our hotel. We stayed on the Riverwalk & it was really pretty & a nice view from our window.

Thursday, Thanksgiving, we took it easy. We walked to breakfast in the snow, which was beautiful. It snowed most of the day on Thursday. We drove to Indiana (about an hour away) to see where my husband was born & lived until he finished 1st grade & moved to Atlanta. We saw his old house, his elementary school, & places he used to go. We then went to The Dunes, which is by Lake Michigan. Did you know Lake Michigan looks like the ocean? Because seriously, I sure didn't. I was very impressed & the dunes were really neat.

Friday, we walked from our hotel to The Sears Tower & went up in it. It was a really pretty day, so we were able to see a lot of the city from up above. On our walk back, we went to Millennium Park which has all sorts of interesting art sculptures outside. There were actually a few metal pieces that we saw on our honeymoon in upstate NY two years ago. Then we drove around a lot.

Saturday, we took the Free Trolley! to the Field Museum of Natural History. It is a HUGE museum, but our favorite parts were the animals & Sue. Sue is the most complete T-Rex skeleton ever found. We bought Baby a "Sue" t-shirt. Then we drove around some & caught a movie (Dan In Real Life--very very good).

Sunday, I was feeling sick, so we kept it pretty low key. We drove to a park outside the city & saw more of the big lake. Drove around a bunch that day. Ended up seeing another movie (Beowulf in 3D) & headed back to the hotel. We saw a few more snowflakes in the parking lot at the theater.

Monday, we sadly flew home. We actually had pretty easy travel this trip. We usually get delayed, have trouble getting the rental, etc, but this time, there was no problems at all on the way there (easy, on time flight, easily got our luggage, quickly got our rental, easily found the hotel) & we were only delayed around 30 mins (due to weather in Atlanta) on our flight home. For us, this is monumental & the smoothest trip (flying) we've ever taken together.

Definitely a fun trip. Highly recommend Chicago. However, it was totally freezing the whole time we were there. I mean seriously, the high was in the 30s every day. I personally think that's cold. But we had a great time & were a little sad to come home (although happy about it too).

At any rate, it's bed time. Take care.

It's a Girl!

Just wanted to let everyone know we went to our big ultrasound today & have a healthy baby girl! We are so excited!! :) She is doing great, measured on schedule & weighed 12 ounces. Will have the report from the radiologist hopefully next week, but the Tech said as far as she could tell, she looked great!

We then went to register at Babies R Us - What an experience! That store is seriously insane. We actually only took around an hour and a half, but David was beat & ready to go! There are just so many things such a little person apparently needs! lol

Busy weekend ahead: Tomorrow we are going to our nephew's 2nd birthday party! It should be loads of fun. Sunday will be church & family stuff. Hopefully somewhere in there, we'll get the Christmas stuff out of the attic & start putting some of it out. Also, we need to start working on the baby's room & picking out names! So much to do!

Next week, we head to Chicago on Wednesday to enjoy Thanksgiving just the two of us. We can't wait for our vacation! We will return on Monday & head back to work/school on Tuesday! If anyone is from the Chicago area, what would you recommend we do?

Hope everyone has a super weekend!

Poll: Boy or Girl?

Alright, so there isn't a prize or anything, but I thought maybe it'd be fun for everyone to vote on whether they think Baby is a boy or girl. We have our BIG ultrasound on Friday, where we will *hopefully* find out Baby's gender (if Baby is cooperative).

Ok, so vote in the comments. Voting ends Friday at 10am EST. Our appt is at 1:30pm on Friday, so I will update Friday evening.

Thanks :)

Crap, I suck

I really should not be allowed to have an online blog thingy. For realz.

However, no news is generally good news, right? Baby is good. *Hopefully* finding out the sex on November 16th! Woo-hoo!

School is same. I'm making due. Can't wait till I graduate in December. So nice to have a BS degree that I may never use. O-well.

Been busy with celebrating everyone & their mothers birthdays since mid-September: Martha Jane, My mom, Valerie, Jamie, Mike, Me, my husband (David), Lee, Chris, Sharon.... and I feel like I'm forgetting people. I mean seriously, there are a heck of a lot of bdays in the fall!

In other news, yes, my birthday & my husband's were both very nice. Thanks for asking ;)

Oh guess what! Some RETARD decided to steal our credit card number & charge a $2800 flight on our card! How loverly. And we just found out on Saturday, even though the transaction was made on October 22. You'd think the credit card company (which shall remain nameless) were used to us making purchases this large, however I can assure you, they are NOT. UGH. I'm sorry, but this isn't the first time something like this has happened & I'm sorry that it really makes me mad that some people are so DISHONEST. Who are these people's parents??!! Seriously!! And you'd think they'd be smarter than to buy a plane ticket in their own name.... Whatever... I just hope **** will actually investigate this time.

We're going to see White Christmas this week with a bunch of my family! I'm pretty excited about it, it'll make Christmas feel even sooner (and will remind me that I REALLY need to start with the shopping! UGH) My inlaws need to draw names like yesterday.

Also, what do you think? We always put up our Christmas tree right around Thanksgiving, but this year, we are going to Chicago over the holiday. We will be gone Wednesday to Monday. If it were you, would you put the tree up early or would you wait until you get home from vacation? Obviously, it's an artificial tree... And I do love Christmas, so I have no problem with putting it up early. I mean, I usually put it up on the early side (Thanksgiving) anyway.

More later. :)
